Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Red Blood Cells
Container: DARK BLUE (Na Heparin or K2EDTA)
Volume: 2.00mL

Collection Requirements: Collect specimen in a dark blue top tube (Na Heparin or K2EDTA). Centrifuge and remove plasma and buffy coat from red blood cells within 24 hours of collection; discard plasma. Transfer the remaining red blood cells into a transport tube.
Storage and Transport: Store and ship refrigerated.
